Why tint

More than a darker look.

Window tint isn’t just a stylish choice; it has practical and safety benefits too.

  • Heat rejection

Parked cars get hot fast in the Arizona sun, especially with dark interiors. Film rejects solar heat so the cabin stays tolerable and the AC doesn’t have to fight as hard.

  • UV protection

Untinted glass blocks only part of the UVA and UVB light that reaches you on every drive. Performance film filters out nearly all of it, protecting skin and interior alike.

  • Less glare

Low sun and bright days can make a drive tiring. Tint takes the edge off glare so you can see more clearly and drive with less strain.

  • Privacy & security

People can’t easily see in, but you can still see out. If a would-be thief can’t see what’s inside, there’s less reason to break in.

  • Interior protection

Dashboards crack and leather fades with sun exposure. Blocking UV and heat helps keep your interior looking new for longer.

Every film blocks more than 99% of UV. IR heat rejected is LLumar’s selective IR rejection (SIRR): the share of solar infrared (780–2500 nm) that isn’t directly transmitted through the glass; each film shows its best figure among the shades we carry. LLumar states that Pinnacle and Stratos cause no signal interference, and makes no claim either way for the others. Descriptions follow LLumar’s own wording. Figures from LLumar FormulaOne Performance Data (LLSP0037NA) and LLumar Window Film Performance Data (LL0116NAEN), for 1/4-inch clear glass; results on your car vary with its glass.

What’s legal in Arizona

Dark where you want it. Legal where it counts.

Arizona sets different limits for different windows. The front sides have to let a minimum amount of light through; the rear sides and back glass can go as dark as you like.

Summary of A.R.S. 28-959.01 for reference. Installing film on the driver or passenger side windows may be illegal in some states. Laws change, so we’ll confirm what’s legal for your vehicle before we install anything.

  • Front side windowsAt least 33% of light, within a 3% toleranceMeasured through film and glass together, so 35% film is usually the darkest option; 30% and darker are not allowed. Of the shades we carry, that’s Classic in 35%, or Pinnacle and Stratos in 50%.
  • Rear side windowsAny shadeNo darkness limit; the reflectivity limit below still applies.
  • Back windowAny shadeNo darkness limit; with both outside mirrors, the reflectivity limit doesn’t apply either.
  • WindshieldA strip across the top onlyIts lower edge must be at least 29 inches above the driver’s seat, and it can’t be red or amber.
  • ReflectivityNo more than 35%On the side and rear windows.

“I wanted to go as dark as possible on the front 2 windows & partial windshield that was within legal limit. … I was very pleased with the results.”

Aftercare

The first week with new tint.

Film takes a few days to fully bond to the glass. A little patience now keeps it looking right for years.

  1. Keep the windows up for 48 hours. This gives the film time to cure and grip the glass.
  2. A little haze is normal. Moisture between the film and glass evaporates over a few days, and the haze goes with it.
  3. Wait a week before cleaning. After that, use an ammonia-free cleaner and a soft cloth. Most foam glass cleaners are fine.
  4. Nothing sharp or abrasive. Scrapers and rough pads will scratch the film.
